Support Reconciliation

The Friends of Myall Creek Memorial are seeking your attendance and support for the Annual Gathering and Memorial of the Myall Creek Massacre ~ which will be held over the June 2019 long weekend.

The Friends of Myall Creek are volunteers and rely on donations and goodwill to organise this important gathering every year.

We are appealing for tax deductible donations to help cover the costs for the event. Starfish Foundation is kindly coordinating this fundraising appeal for us.

Every year on the Sunday of the June long weekend there is a gathering at the Myall Creek Memorial to remember the massacre which took place on 10 June 1838. The main commemoration event will be on Sunday 9 June at Myall Creek. It will involve a walk from the hall to the memorial for a commemorative service, an oration from our keynote speaker and then returning to the hall to announce winners of the art, writing and song competition.

A detailed program will be made available closer to the time. You can subscribe to our newsletter for updates via the home page of our website.

As part of the commemoration we are inviting people from right across the country to join us at Myall Creek on Sunday in an act of solidarity to acknowledge the past and join together in continuing to create a future vision for a reconciled community.

To enable this outcome, we are hoping that you might be able to assist by providing a tax deductible donation via Starfish Foundation.

Whether or not this is possible the Friends of Myall Creek Memorial warmly invite you to share in these special events that have local, national and international significance.
